The city of Dalian will have 351 projects on offer at exhibitions overseas this year, according to a work conference of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Dalian branch, on Feb 27, Dalian News has reported.
Dalian area companies will be able to take part in different promotional activities in such countries as Germany, France, Japan, and Russia, and those in Southeast Asian and South America, this year.
In 2012, the city attended 160 exhibitions in 60 countries, and had a total of 2,520 booths, a 7.23-percent increase year-on year, for the highest number for any city in Northeast China.
The city's exports were worth $34.68 billion last year, with its overseas exhibition-generated contacts contributing about $2.67 billion of that, or 7.69 percent of the total.
Those in garments, textile, foodstuff, and other industries played a major role in overseas exhibitions, reaching 75 percent of all companies attending overseas exhibitions.
Those in light industry, consumer goods, furniture, and building materials accounted for 15 percent of companies promoting in overseas exhitioins, while electronic communication, green energy, and the chemical industry accounted for 10 percent.
