The newly-built Dalian North Railway Station is nearly complete and will open soon, according to the city's construction bureau on Sept 4, 2012.
The station's construction began on April 1, 2010 and is essentially complete. It is currently undergoing equipment debugging. The project cost about 1.54 billion yuan.
The bridgework in the north square of the railway station is expected to finish on Sept 10, and the bridge engineering in the south square will be completed at the end of October.
The coastal city of Dalian will enter the era of high-speed rail once the Dalian North Railway Station opens to traffic.
